GDB Fun Day August '08

The day I got to see some of my brothers and a sister

The theme was a human thing called "50's Day" or something like that. Some of the humans were even dressed up somewhat odd, like they found something old in their closets to wear. I even saw some canines dressed up. Now, I know they would not have done that on their own, so they must have agreed to some kind of deal to look that silly. Below are some pictures of the day.

These guys do some great work and like it when you check out their website. If you are interested in raising one of my cousins, give'm a call.

I'm told that people used to eat outside their windows, just like when we hang our heads out the window to catch some breeze.

One of my humans and I looking through a hole in a wall. I'm not sure why but I got a snacky, so it was good.

Some of those people I told you about. I think they had fun.

It's not only the canines that jump through hoops, these human puppies were doing it too.

My human has one of these but he said it's a Red Flyer.

A cute human puppy with a 50's style "poodle" Guide Dog skirt. It smelled good.

I got to ride in one of these when I was younger. The vibrations of riding helped me go to sleep.

Here is a look inside.

(That isn't a real puppy, it's just a pretend one.)

Here is my Uncle Jim showing some humans good toys to play with and bad toys to avoid.

Humans also need help to figure out how to put on my collar. By the way, that "dog" isn't real. In fact it doesn't even smell real.

This is where I tell my humans to "Do your business".

Some of my puppy friends waiting to grow up like me!

This chubby little cousin is going to be a chewer.

These little guys were saying hi. I think they will be real friendly.

This little charmer was day dreaming about being a future leader in America.

One cute little head popped up and then...

...and then there were two!

I remember playing in this yard! It was so cool to chill out with my brothers and sisters.

I was watching one of my cousins play on this balance board thingy. I got in line so I could try too.

I found out later in the day that this was my brother. I hadn't seen him in a while and didn't even recognize him. We met up later and rekindled old memories.

Yo dude, ridin' the wave!

My humans found some friends to chat with.

My friend Armstrong works here at D4D. It's a pretty cool place.

I also met up with my friend Emerson. He's a cool guy.

I really liked this mist tent. After a long hard day of showing my humans around, they needed to cool off.

There were lots of tents to sniff out. I especially like the tents that had cousins to meet.

I think the humans called this thing "art". The pick-up bags, paper towels and scoopers just made me want to go do my business.

This is my friend Enid. She makes puppies right now. Soon she will get to be a working dog. I'm so proud of her.

This is me and my friend Enrique. I got to teach him some bad habits one day. It was fun.

This is my friend Violetta. She's a cutie.

I'm one of eleven puppies. For our family reunion, five of us where able to get together.

This is my big brother Beckett.

This is me.

This is Brent, he was the only Yellow in our litter.

This is me again. My humans say I'm kinda special. I was keeping an eye on things while they were eating their meal.

My brothers Bonanza and Beckett being silly.

I want to get into the action too. (That's me on the right.)

Bonanza was enjoying the sun.

Ok, here are four of us. From left to right. Me (Bernardo), Beckett, Bonanza and Brent. Cool family eh? I think so.

A close up.

Bonanza and Brent. So studly looking.

Brent waiting around for our sister, Berlina.

Hey, you made it. That's Berlina on the right.

Me and Beckett again. This posing for pictures is a pretty cool gig.

I think Brent was tired. He took a quick snooze.

Me and Beckett.

The guys.

...and the guys with our sister.

All the humans waiting in line for chow.

Wow, that was a long line. It went pretty fast though. I think the humans must have consulted with some canine cousins to make sure it flowed so easy.

Human food all individually wrapped. Those humans are so picky. I just like the big bag and I'm good to go.

Human cookies. They need to be treated for good behavior too!

Thanks for visiting. Hope you had a good time. Congratulations to Guide Dogs on their 50th Fun Day. Visit them at http://www.guidedogs.com.
