Independence Day in the Pines

One of the first things Kitty does when we arrive in the mountains

This trip's project was to get this old sink...

...and this piece of drain pipe...

...in the laundry room

After two trips to my favorite Pines hardware store to fix the leaky trap
it's in, and acts like a laundry room sink just fine

Another small project was to remove the electric wall heater and seal/texture the hole

Danielle made lasagna from scratch
I'm told it was very, very good (I don't eat lasagna too often. Noodles, ah)

We also had white corn. This ear was slightly integrated

Kitty likes corn, she just has to remember to nibble, not go full throttle

After dinner, she sure is tired

I cleaned up an old firewood rack, painted it and it looks good here

Another day, Steph and I were shooting baskets, Kitty wanted to join in!

Now it's time for a cool drink of hose water, mmmmmmmmm

The blue eggs from our last trip hatched, there are now four birdies

Kitty is checking out the baby birds over the edge of the deck, into the tree

Another project, put up the ugly, broken antenna to see if we can get a signal

Another project, extend the front door threshold to remove the gap under the screen door

We found a coffee table for $10 at a local yard sale, yoo-hoo!

Danielle's shoes look like art

The girls painted some planks to "cabin" up the walls

Just hanging out

My favorite Pines hardware store (and the only hardware store in town)

This is Bob, he is my favorite hardware guy (89 and doing great!)

Salute to America!

2009 Pollock Pines July 4th Parade

This band was led by our new neighbor Jay (ball cap in front)

This cow poke was teasing a by-stander that she lost her 52DD

Enough fun in the Pines, time to go home, heading down the driveway
